Abstract
World Marxism has many origins and traditions, and some of them are non-Western. For example, Maoism, some Japanese Marxism and Stalinism. Although Stalinism is not Asian Marxism, it is different from the Western tradition especially in highly-advanced capitalist countries. In this sense, it can be called as a kind of non-Western Marxism, and at least in China, coexists with Maoism and Western oriented Leftism. Furthermore, Japanese Marxists developed various types of original Marxism, and some ofthem had an influence in other Asian countries. In this chapter, I will discuss such various Asian Marxism especially in Northeast Asia from a view-point of their originalities and influences from the outsides.
