Abstract

Under the co-existence of multiple forms of economy in China, the only way to hold tight the flag of socialism with Chinese characteristics in light of the principles of scientific socialism is to maintain a strong public economy and stick firmly to the dominant position of public ownership. Such a position is not an abstract stipulation, but rather realistic, which can be demonstrated with statistical index. Only through the object form (or value form) of capital, and with the statistical index that reflects social relations in production, can the fundamental ownership relations be truly grasped. From this perspective, only when employees of state and collective economy account for no less than 50% in the total employees of the second and third industries, can we claim a dominant position of public ownership. This paper concludes by proposing an improvement of the statistical index and its open access by the related statistical department.
