Abstract

This paper elaborates Chinese and foreign research literatures on happiness indexes and then clarifies the principles or standards of measuring the happiness and the indicators system scientifically based on Marxism theory. The objective indexes should adequately reflect the degree of objective satisfaction people need important and the subjective indexes will have to fully reflect subjective feelings and evaluation of the current state of life. Objective basis for happiness which is the objective needs met people is diverse so according to this happiness can also be divided into different types. The needs of people according to its contents can be classified as natural(material)needs,social (interpersonal) and spiritual needs. Happiness can be simply divided into three levels:survival happiness,enjoying happiness and development happiness. According to the research on happiness indexes the paper builds the micro and macro level indicator systems,the individual or family happiness indicator system and social or national happiness indicator system. The indicator systems are mainly objective indexes and supplemented by subjective indexes. The systems contain average indexes which reflect the average level of happiness of the groups and relative indexes which reflect the happiness social difference of the populations in certain aspects. Compared with Chinese and foreign existing indicator system,the design of this paper is more scientific and comparable.
