British economist Seton's paper Transformation Problem is thought to be important in the research of value transformation. Our article will state the following. The paper firstly developed general formulas for value transformation and made significant contribution on value transformation study. Secondly, the paper was an important transition from "unchangeable formula" to "special model" regarding value transformation discussion. However, the paper mistakenly held that value transformation problem could only be solved by special model and Marx's transformation theory was true in special cases.
