Stockholding economy is anything but an independent concept
of property rights. Rather, its nature refers to mixed ownership economy. The Decision on Major lssues Concerning Comprehensively Deepening Reforms,approved at Third Plenary Session of the 18th Central Committee of the CPC defines developing mixed ownership economy as an indispensable approachto realizing fundamental economic institutions, and reflects general features of socialist mixed ownership economy in micro field. Stockholding system enjoys three fundamental functions, namely rapid capital raising, capital form reshaping, separating the ownership and function of capital in line with the socialized and modernized development of production. Marx's statement on the functions of stockholding constitutes a significant ideological treasure for the scientific acquaintance of stockholding system. It is a crucial approach to furthering the development of SOL, reform to better utilize its nature and functions and give full play to its roles.
